BIG MO
We, the Eta Upsilon Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi and the Zeta Omega Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma, are responsible for College Football’s Largest Bass Drum, Big MO. The original Big MO was made by the Tiger Quarterback Club of St. Louis, and donated to our organizations in 1993. Eventually the old drum started to wear and a fundraiser was established to fund a new drum. During the 2012 season, the new “Bigger” MO was debuted. The drum made by the Boumpani Music Company is 9 feet in diameter, 54 inches in width, 12 feet tall on its base, and weighs in at 800lbs. The old Big MO can still be seen on display at the MU Student Center. The drum now is used to lead enthusiastic M-I-Z, Z-O-U chants on game days.

During home football games, a crew is required to run Big MO. Participation with Big MO is given to alumni of Kappa Kappa Psi-Eta Upsilon and Tau Beta Sigma-Zeta Omega, then to Marching Mizzou alumni. There is a $25 dollar fee to be a crew member. If you have any questions regarding Big MO please email our Big MO chair, Taylor Watson, at tmwm4g@mail.missouri.edu.
